June 2012
My sista from another mista, my meser, my concert buddy, and my best friend graduates from high school this Saturday. In the days leading up to our eighth grade graduation, I remembering thinking, “What am I going to do without her?!” as we were going to different high schools (albeit our schools are just down the road from each other). Now, four years later, she will be going to college in Scotland while I’ll be going to school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m still wondering what I am going to do without her. P, I’m so proud of you, so happy for you, and I’m going to miss you like crazy.
Oops - I skipped one of the topics, so I’ll just write about Day 3’s topic today!
Homecoming
Homecoming is not a very big deal at my school because we do not have a football team, cheerleaders, etc, so there isn’t really a team to “bring home” haha. Homecoming is usually held at our school and for that reason is normally popular just among the freshman/sophomores (by the time kids at my school reach junior year, they are typically pretty apathetic towards all dances except for prom/possibly formal). It’s also casual (I think).
I only went to homecoming when I was a freshman. It was held in a hotel and I brought my best friend, Andrianna (@disappearlikesmoke), who goes to a different high school, with me. I don’t remember homecoming as being very eventful, except that we met this guy who also goes to a different high school (not the same one that Andrianna goes to) and that we both still think is beautiful to this day. I remember leaving Andrianna for about five minutes to go talk to someone and I came back and that guy was dancing with her. She looked mortified hehe. And we talked about him regularly for the next year or so.
Freshman year lols.
